Mandala in Sanskrit means "circle", it is a closed geometric system with equally distant elements from the central point, which is a drawing containing a lot of symbolism in Hindu and Buddhist cultures. In Buddhism, Mandala symbolizes the habitat of the deities. It is believed that the mandalas represent various aspects of the universe and are used as tools of maditation and symbols of prayer.

The Swiss psychiatrist Carl Gustav Jung identified the mandala as an archetypical symbol of human perfection, and introduced in Europe the daily practice of drawing mandalas for self-expression, discovery and healing.
